Re: barilla pasta?
Congratulations. What is it about the pasta that supposed to help? Why eat it CD1-4? How did you hear about this? Sorry for all the questions. I'm on CD8 and I'm taking Robitussin and Mucinex. If I have to eat pasta I will do that too. Thanks :)

Re: barilla pasta?
It is supposed to have vitamins in it that are good for women who are TTC, but so do prenatals. I would need a lil more scientific proof or a study before I would be buying a box - but that is just me.

Ditto - the fact is I've been eating Barilla plus even before we started trying, and I was off the pill, and nada for me!

I also agree...I think it is pure luck/coincidence about BFPs & eating the pasta....

Re: barilla pasta?
I still feel the same. I also looked at the nutritional content of the pasta and frankly, at 200 calories for 2 ounces of pasta, I don't want to risk packing on pounds before I get pregnant. With my family history of morbid obesity, heart disease, diabetes AND gestational diabetes, pasta is a poor diet choice for me. Barilla plus still has 38 grams of carbs per serving which is only 4 grams less than its regular counterpart. Carbs turn to sugar and that is poison for a diabetic or someone like me who has had gastric bypass and can get sick from having too much sugar.

Re: barilla pasta?
It worked for me or at least I think it did. I ate it during my feritle week and got a BFP!
It was recommended by a few members of the site so I thought it would be worth a shot and it sure was!
It sounds crazy but you never know and is definitely worth a try. It tastes good too! We tried a few months and the month I got preggo's is the same month I ate the pasta which was during my fertile time.
ADDED: Speaking for myself, I only ate it twice that week. It won't effect you much if you ate it twice in one week.

Re: barilla pasta?
By that note, ANYTHING you eat during your fertile week could have the same effects. All I am saying is that I need more proof.

Who knows maybe it is a coincidence, everyone will have their opinions but I think it helped me and I'm sure others it worked for would agree.

Re: barilla pasta?
That is fine and it is great that we can all express our opinions, but I would be concerned that SOMEONE out there would take this as scientific fact and wonder why they aren't getting PG.

Re: barilla pasta?
No one said it was a scientific fact we are just helping one another by suggesting others try it. We are here to support one another not make another one feel they are not fertile because a certain pasta didn't help them get pregnant.
It was just a coincidence that quite a few woman on here had gotten pg when they ate this pasta during their fertile time. So we threw the idea out there, hey why not try it.

By no means am I implying that yours (or anyone else's) intentions arent good. I know they are. And of course nobody said that it was fact. It is a matter of interpretation. What works for some will not work for others - we all know that. I also think it is wonderful that we can support each other by sharing what we have done to get PG.
I tried my best to speak for myself and out of concern for women, like myself who are vulnerable and may try anything. I know that for MYSELF, that I need more concrete facts and information. I hated knowing that I did everything I possibly could by the book and still couldn't get PG only to learn that I needed surgery to have it happen. That was MY reality.
I wish everyone the best and if eating pasta works for you then so be it.

Re: barilla pasta?
I drank 5 shots with my boss the night I got PG. But I wouldn't recommend it to others.
Seriously, some of us that were dealing with infertility were put on special diets. Those with PCOS are supposed to eat less white sugar and go more for the whole grains. But it's not just one pasta for that. It's an entire lifestyle change.

Of course, I agree with you 100%. I don't expect it to work for EVERYONE but just threw the suggestion out there for those who want to give it a shot.
I hope I didn't offend anyone and if I did my apologies as that was not my intentions. I was just offering some helpful ideas to you wonderful ladies as you have helped me tremendously when I was TTC.

Your so convinced it does not work yet women have had it and got a BFP..anything that maybe a gimic or let people have hope. I would not be so judgemental though. FYI..you mention NOTHING of the FOLIC ACID..that's the point. I had 1C for dinner and 1/2 a Cup at lunch. I doubt that would be "packing on the pounds" as compared to the other stuff one would eat in a whole week. I am not trying to argue here but whatever works for some people should be left at that. Who cares??? The whole point is that we all want a baby right?

I spoke for myself. That is pretty clear. All I know is that I need more information to make a dietary choice. If anyone else wants to eat pasta, more power to them. I just won't be joining them. I am also entitled to state my opinion just as anyone else is. We are all of different schools of thought and that is ok too.

Re: barilla pasta?
It did not work for me this month, but I love pasta so much that I did not mind trying it.
There are so many myths and tips and tricks. Most of us are so eager to get pregnant (oooohhhh I am sooo eager) that we tend to get excited over anything that could work. best of luck everyone!!

Re: barilla pasta?
Why is anyone even debating this? Obviously science or even prenatals doesn't make you get pregnant. Some people want to try it, some don't, who cares.Hardly a debatable issue for people with 1/2 a brain IMO. I doubt anyone in their right mind would believe pasta would make them more fertile than someone who doesn't. It's kind of like eat this and you'll go into labor. It's pretty much coincidence in both cases.

I agree with this 100%.
I keep reading about this barilla thing, and I am not understanding why people would think it was pasta helping them get pg. I keep biting my tongue over it, but seriously..eating barilla pasta will not help or hurt your chances of pregnancy. We are all rational women....it is your body and timing and biology...not carbs!! Don't mean to rain on anyones parade...for those who got their BFP, congrats to you, it is wonderful news that you SHOULD be celebrating and excited about...but the pasta thing just is getting silly, sorry, JMHO
