When do i ovulate?

I just very very recently went off the pill after 7 years and now have no idea when I ovulate. What do you suggest I do to find out - how accurate are those ovulation kits? the sticks? an on-line guide?
And when do I start using the kit? Ideally, I would like to get AF this month (Nov.) and next month - just to find my patterns and then start TTC in Jan.
I ask because I would like to keep up with the "action" with DH without being worried about becoming PG until we start trying. He already told me I'm staring to make it not fun with my constant worrying :)

The only way to really get an idea is to chart for the next few months and see what your cycle is. You can tell by temps when you are going to ovulate and start using OPKs around that time. Every woman is different and it may take your body awhile to get back to it's natural cycle.
