resumes
when is the best time to send out resumes for next year?
Should I still send a resume to the district even if they are using the online resume system?
Do you recommend sending resumes to individual schools in addition to the administration offices?

Re: resumes
Usually september openings begin to be posted in February.
I know online applications are the norm, but my first job ever, I got because I had sent in my resume in August and then sent it in again updated with my subbing experience - they said that they were impressed with the initiative (that was an individual NYC school)
I would think in the suburbs, it might not hurt to send a resume to individual principals - you never know what they have coming open. But I think the best way to get your name out there is to sub, sub, sub.

Re: resumes
i actually heard a while ago that Nov is a good time as well to send them. Not sure why though.
If you are applying on LI I would sugguest filling out the applications on their websites. I tried sending them to schools directly and i would just geta response card back telling me to apply online.
