TMI for pregnant moms of multiples
Did your dr. tell you not to have sex? My DH is so afraid of having sex that when I asked my dr. the other day, the dr. said as long as everything (cervix) looks good and no bleeding. Well, my DH said the dr. was back pedling and was really saying no, but didn't want to actually say no. Mind you I have tried to get DH to give it up (LOL), the entire pregnancy (I'm 25w tomorrow) and only once did he give in. It did take us a very long time to get pregnant and we needed help. So now we're blessed with twins he doesn't want to do anything that might harm the pregnancy. The dr. said the uterus will contract from an 'o' and then that can cause pre-term labor in some women. That's all my DH needed to hear. My DH said (not in malliciousness, but in actual concern), that is we can't hold out for the rest of the pregnancy (and that includes me taking care of business myself), that it's selfish and the babies will be the ones that suffer. Uuuuuuuggggghhhhhh!!!!! I'm going crazy over here. It's so much better now, as most women find out. I can't believe I have to wait around 4 months before the possiblity of having sex, and I'm sure by then with twin infant, I won't care less. What did you dr. tell you?

My doctor never said anything. When I was put on bed rest, of course I wasn't allowed to do anything.

My dr. told us to hold off until after 12 weeks but after that it was fine.

I wasn't "cut off" until about 27 or 28 weeks.

I asked my docter the same thing and he told me its ok to have sex now that I'm over the first trimester , but he did also mention when I hit 20/24 weeks I need to become a couch potato and take it easy does not want me to go into preterm labor.... So it really depends If your a high risk patient and whatever the docter recommends. Good luck!

my doc cut me off at 15 weeks i think?! i kept going into preterm labor so no more!!

i feel the same as your DH
call it paranoia - call it what you will
but it has taken us too long to get here, and we don't want to leave anything to chance
we'll be apprehensive until they arrive, and if god forbid, something were to happen, we don't want to be left with any questions or doubt. "What if we didn't.." "would it have worked out if we hadn't?'

Nope, my doctor was okay with everything. We cut ourselves off towards the end....I was just toooo big
