Anyone NOT get gifts form kids?
In the 6years i have been teaching i think i have gotten 1 gift. and maybe 5 cards

I don't usually get gifts...if I do it is just candy or something like that. When i frist started teaching, I got TONS of cards. Now they have dwindled too...

I've always gotten gifts from the majority of the kids...but things from stuff bought at the dollar store to $75 gift cards. This year at a new school they collect money from e/ parent & give us $100 from the class (every teacher), but I still got some gift cards and some decorative gifts/candles. This is a private school though

I rarely get stuff from kids....When I was a TA on Long Island for 2 years on the N SHore I used to come home with bags full of stuff some stuff was good other stuff was not most is still sitting in my mothers house...sometimes I would rather got little to nothing

I teach high school students and I usually do not get gifts. Although I got a Borders gift card and a Dunkin Donuts gift card this year. A very nice surprise!

I teach middle school and I have always gotten gifts so much so that it's usually 2 trips to the car and then my dh and I start the process over vacation of sorting and dumping.
Last year though one student gave my a dooney and burke wristlet- that I kept

I usually get quite a few gifts. My favorites, though, are gift cards that I can use to buy things for my class so I don't have to use my own money.

I work in a bad area...95% of our students are on free or reduced lunches...so needless to say i didn't get anything...however one of our students did give us a picture of her, so that was thoughtful.

I GET HILARIOUS GIFTS. A friend got a "Bag O' Clothles" sizes of clothles new and old ranging from XS to XXXL. Love it! I feel dollar store or the mall it is the thought that counts.

I gave the teacher and two assistants cashmere gloves and $20 towards a group gift. Teacher will have $100 gift cert and each asst $75.

This year was a big exception- but nothing spectacular
1) 2 fairy figurines
2) wax tartlet warmer and tarts
3) super huge pencil (from the school store)
4) a box of 4 godiva chocolates
5) the rattiest little teddy bear with a 4leaf clover shirt on it (mustve been the girl's and she gave it to me)
