Persuasive essay lessons
I am going to start writing persuasive essays with my 4th graders. Does anyone have any good ideas for you that worked and incorporated technology?

how about persuading these kids to stay off of Myspace and lying about their ages and attracting sick people online
When I taught 4th grade last year I found half of my class online pretening to be 18 yrs old!!! 
Sorry to be so snarky... What ways are you looking to incorporate tech into the writing lesson? Like word processing and publishing?
Maybe they can use a program to create a chart to illustrate their persuasive point?

in CT we teach persuasive in 7th and 8th grade... but my students enjoy actually conducting a debate on a given topic.
You could have them write letters persuading someone to read or not read a book they have read in class.
Lots of charts in the beginning showing pros and cons of the topic.

judith viorst earrings - girl persuades her parents to get her earrings...have them write a letter to their parents/loved ones expressing why they deserve ___________ and like the previous poster said, add charts or graphics to illustrate their points
