Where to go in Maine
Dh and I are thinking of exploring Maine over February break. Either that or Vermont. (We go to New Hampshire about 6 times a year..)
Any particular cities we should look into, and any nice bed and breakfasts?

we were up there in september... we went to acadia national park and it was beautiful!!! not sure how much is going on there in february, but definitely a neat place to check out. we also went to freeport and walked around to shop... neat little town. you can visit the main LL Bean store there, too. bath was also cute wth lots of little shops and things...

We go to Ogunquit every year. And we love Kennebunkport and York. We have been to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It is pretty but we would never go again. For us, there was really nothing much to do.

We went to Ogunquit for our mini-moon. DH and I love Maine. Arcadia National Park is really nice, so is Cape Elizabeth. You can also check out Portland and Wiscasset is also nice.
We love Maine.

It is quite difficult to go to Maine in Feb. My family lives there & we have a summer place there. Most of the "tourist" areas are shut down in the winter bc there is no demand for them. The ski resorts are what is most popular now. If you go into the big "tourist" towns like Camden, Bar Harbor, BoothBay Harbor or even Port Clyde, most shops will be closed down until the spring.

We've gone to the Woodstock Inn the past 2 winters. It's beautiful up there. There's skiing (downhill and cross country), ice skating, and snowshoeing nearby. Woodstock also has a cute walkable area with shops, bars and restaurants.
