May be a silly question, but do dogs dream?

Even more silly- Do they have nightmares?

My dog was making weird noises in his sleep last night. It actually woke me & my DH up from our sleep. When we checked on him to see what was wrong, he woke up up and seemed fine.

It was so WEIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe so.
Casey seems to all of the time.
Sometimes you can actually see her feet and legs moving like she is running in her sleep - it is toooooo cute

IMO I think they do. I always watch Bella sleep and you see her eyes moving, making noises sometimes, etc..

Hope it's not Nightmares though

I think they dream.

Lilly will move her little paws like she is running and occassionally she will "yip yip yip" while she's sleeping. I like to think she *finally* caught that squirrel she is always after

I think they do. My old dog Roger, used to run and hump in his sleep! I swear!

i think they def do!! Shea is passed out and she will be barking in her sleep and make weird noises... it scared me the first time

yes - char has puppy dreams all the time - she'll bark in her dreams - she'll look like she is running after something - she'll start breathing really deep - it's so cool but sometimes i feel bad - like she is having a nightmare when she whimpers so i'll wake her.

They definitely dream...Misty barks and runs in her sleep all the time.

Absolutely. Katie movies her legs, whimpers, barks a little and you can see her eyes moving.

i think they do, Murray seems like he has bad dreams sometimes.

My dad takes our dog to the office everyday with us--he's sitting next to my desk right now and is whimpering and almost "running" while he sleeps with his paws making that motion....so cute.

Yes, Kasey dreams. I know I've seen her legs move while she's sleeping, in her dream she's running. There have also been times when we hear her "woof" or whine while sleeping and we touch her and tell her it's ok and then she stops, so I guess whatever she's dreaming about frightened her like a nightmare would.

definitely! my dog dreams all the time!

her little legs start going and i can see her eyes rolling and her ears twitching - sometimes she loosely barks - it's so cute!

Yes. Daisy has been on the couch fats asleep and she'll start crying and then moving/shaking her paws, so we gently whisper to her that everything will be okay and she wakes up and looks at us and seems calmer.
