electronics thru security
Bringing a computer, cameras and a digital video camera on the plane. They can all go thru the x-ray correct? Do I need to tell the x-ray people anything? I dont want to lose any data on anything.

The laptop has to be taken out of its case and put into its own bucket. The rest can stay in your bag. No issues.

If you have a portable photo printer, take that out. I had so much trouble and every security check point (I went thru 2) they had to take it outr and check for explosives. The only thing I can say is it must have looked like a bomb going thru (LCD, little tube, lots of electronics in a smallish box). So if you have anything like that take it out and save yourself the extra 10 mins.

Just had this same issue. Cameras in my bag were fine, laptop had to be taken out of the case and the battery removed and placed in it's own bin before they let it go through.

they may ask you to start up your laptop also...that is why you have to take it out and put it in its own bucket...

Traveled last week, I didn't take my digital camera out of my bag but they did ask DH to remnove digital Video Camera and DVD player and put in its own bucket.
Don't know the reason, sometimes they ask sometimes they don't. I've found with these things there is no consistency with different airports and even different security checkers.
