Has anyone taken the cruise out of NYC..ONE MORE QUESTION....any cruise under $2,500.00 ?
what cruise line did you use and would it be crazy difficult with a toddler ?

Re: Has anyone taken the cruise out of NYC
did it twice once on Princess & another on Norwegian. We do not have experience with travelling with kids since we don't have one but my SIL & BIL did this & LOVED it. They felt it was a lot easier travelling with an infant (my nephew was 7 months). You don't have the limitations of how many bags you can bring & they were about to bring the pack-n-play with them. They are looking to do another one this year bc now they have two kids...

The only thing I worry about, is having to be in the cabin at 8:00 for DD to sleep, no night life ? That of course would be with any vacation.

Re: Has anyone taken the cruise out of NYC
We did it with our son when he was 16 months and we had a great time. Will your daughter sleep in her stroller? That is how we were able to stay out a little later. We would just let him fall asleep in the stroller and then go to the lounges for a drink. We also were with family though so some nights they would watch him so we could go to the casino. I have to say I was a little nervous at times b/c there are places (like on the top deck by the pool) where the windows were wide open from floor to ceiling and I was terrified he would run in that direction but that was just me being a nervous mommy--all in all we had a great time and it is definitely doable but much easier if she will fall asleep in stroller so you are not cabin-bound too early. Oh, we were on the Celebrity Zenith from NY to Bermuda.

We are bringing Andrew and when on vaca or out we extend that bedtime. We go with the flow. Esp on vacation. Also, he can def sleep in his stroller so that might happen or else my parents are coming too and they can stay with him while DH and I go out

Re: Has anyone taken the cruise out of NYC
We did last January with ILs and our toddler nephew....
ILs traded nights to watch our nephew and everything else was fine.....we had a really good time. Make sure you bring a good umbrella stroller....

Re: Has anyone taken the cruise out of NYC
We did the Princess cruise out of Brooklyn last June with our then 9mo. It was fantastic! We just rolled right on to the ship and were already on vacation I HIGHLY recommend it. So much easier than having to fly first. DS slept in his stroller each night. He would fall asleep during appetizers and we would just let him sleep there until we were ready to go in for the night. We watched a movie up top one night. That was so much fun A few mights I took DS back to the room and DH went to the casino. We were up so early that I was exhausted pretty early so I didn't mind. Some cruise lines have baby sitting services for the older kids. DS was too young but it worked out OK for us.
