Need recs for neurosurgeon in NYC
Can anyone rec an excellent neurosurgeon in NYC ?
Also, anyone know of a website that shows reviews of NYC doctors ?

For what kind of surgery if I may ask? I had neurosurgery for epilepsy but I believe that is what he specilized in but I LOVED him!!!!

But DH's dr is at Weill Cornell in Manhattan.

It's for spinal area surgery. I was given 4 names that are in my insurance and I couldn't find any reviews on each doctor.
Thats great that you loved your neurosurgeon. I would love his info if you think this is something in his area !!

Thanks but Dr. Bookvar isn't in my plan. Unfortunately, it's slim pickings for Neurosurgeons in my insurance plan !!

Dr Robert Goodman
I'm not sure if he can help with what you need but give it a try.
He was great. Most surgeons have NO bedside manner but he was amazing. Not like any surgeon I have ever seen.

I don't have any recommendations off-hand for NYC but my mom works for a neurosurg practice in NHP. If you'd like you can FM me the names and I'll ask her which ones her docs recommend or know in NYC.

I don't know anyone off the top of my head - but check out The best drs in NY
You can get more info on the specific dr thru this - New York Doctor Profile
I would look for someone out of Cornell or Columbia Presbyterian.

Dr. John Bendo. His number is 212-427-5553. He is Asst. Director and Director of the Spine Service at NYU/Hospital for Joint Diseases. He did my spine surgery in November 2005 and I CANNOT say enough good things about him as well as that hospital. They were wonderful.

I am going to check out these websites for reviews and also the doctors. My insurance is new and I found out that I can go to doctors out of network so all these recs really help !

My husband is scheduled for spinal surgery (cervical spine) at the end of April. Dr. Dryer of NYU will be doing the surgery. We also heard great reviews of the other dr in the practice--Dr. Errico. Good luck to you!
