RSofNY: maybe I'm jumping the gun but.....
I've been going to RSofNY and had my first IUI there recently. Unfortunately it failed. I'm getting really anxious because I'm just not sure about this place. I had the IUI done at Stony Brook and it was such a mess....had a 9am appointment and went to the wrong "side" of the office. I was supposed to go to the lab part which i didnt know.....and after I signed in and everything they just left me waiting...didnt come get me to tell me I was in the wrong part or anything. I waited almost 2 hrs when they originally told me I would be in and out in 30 minutes. And the last time I went in after my IUI the Dr. was reading off something on my chart and someone wrote down something wrong....like I said on my chart!!! Goodness!!!! And I kinda feel like they rush me in and out. I'm so sorry... I really dont mean to offend any of their patients. I know many people LOVE them. But I've read so many negative things on here and after my experiences lately I'm really worried. Someone once told me that I have to form my own opinion which is absolutely true but I'm so confused. Please help!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm just kinda freakin out.

Regardless of what anyone says or thinks on this board about various REs, if you are not completely comfortable then I think you should think about moving on. Everyone will have different experiences.
I know I would hate going somewhere that I didn't feel comfortable. Maybe interview a few places and then decide if somewhere else might be a better fit?
Good luck

You really need to be comfortable where you are going. You have enough going on, you need to be able to trust the clinic you are using. It wouldn't hurt to go for at least a consultation at another clinic. Maybe you'll connect with another doctor and another staff and feel more comfortable with them.

Re: RSofNY: maybe I'm jumping the gun but.....
Sorry to hear about your IUI experience. That must have been tough waiting for over 2 hours, I'm good for a max of 20 minutes. I have been using RSofNY since June 2007 5 IUI'S & 2 IVF's. I thought after my 1st IUI that was it and then IVF!! I never though I would do it. If you are not happy or do not feel confident I would consider another facility. Its tuff to do but you need to be in the best place. At least feel that you are. I switched..... Good Luck

If you are unhappy there, you should get a second opinion. I went there and loved it, but never had to wait that long and never had an experience of them writing something wrong on my chart. If I had, I would be feeling the same way you are. Just becuase a place has good or bad reviews doesn't mean it's a fit for everyone. I was nervous going in becuase of all the bad reviews but ended up loving it so you never know. Again, YOU have to feel comfortable. Good luck

Sorry to hear you have had a bad experience. I went to RSofNY and I was very happy BUT that was my experience. If you don't feel comfortable then by all means I would recommend getting a second opinion or looking for another RE. That is your choice. Whether I or anyone else had a good experience there has no bearing on how you are feeling. Good luck!!

ITA - I decided before I even walked in the office today that if I wasn't comfortable I would be coming home and calling another office, luckily my appointment was great. If you aren't comfortable definitely look elsewhere.

I agree with everyone else, you have to go some place you are comfortable. I recently switched REs and it was a really hard decision but in the end I think I am with someone I am very confident in going through IVF with. One of my RL friends goes to the same office I do and she said everyone she knows hates my RE. He and I are a really good fit though and I really like him. To each his own, I would interview a few others.

I have been happy there, but it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks or what anyone else's experiences are. YOU have to be comfortable in who you choose to guide you through this experience.

Re: RSofNY: maybe I'm jumping the gun but.....
Thanks everyone.....I'm just so confused. I'm waiting for a call back from my gynocologist (Dr. Dilena) since he's the one who recommended RSofNY. He's great and I really like him and value his opinion so I'm gonna tell him whats happening and see what he thinks. Maybe he can make another recommendation. Thanks again everyone for your relpies....it really does help
