bottles....
Yet another question. I'm trying to get my registry squared away.
How many bottles do I need? I'm guessing I need a separate supply for each baby. Did you register for the same brand or two different brands?
Thanks!!

Re: bottles....
In the beginning when they eat every 3 hours or so... 8X a day=16 bottles in a 24 hour period.
IMO, I wouldn't even bother with anything less than the 8 ounces. The 2 and 4 oz. are a waste because they use those for such a limited time.
ETA: We never had separate bottles for each DC. There were 16 of the same bottle. They get washed thoroughly between uses so it doesn't matter.
Wait til they are on cereal, you'll feed them from the same spoon

I would just get the 8 ounces. Can I suggest the Platex w/ disposable liners? or the Born Free?

I had my eye on the Born Free. I'm glad to hear you like them. So should I just register for 15 or so 9 oz (or 8 oz) and maybe a few smaller ones and that should cover both of them? And one more stupid question, what size nipples do I get? I'm confused about the 1 or the 2.

Re: bottles....
I started with about 10 advent bottles which someone had given me. We then switched to Dr Brown's because of spit up for one child. Then he was on different formula so we kept them different. Eventually we went to Dr brown's wide necks for my other son. I wanted to make sure there was no confusion of who's was who's so I wanted different ones because of a milk protein allergy.
I wouldn't get all fo the bottles before hand since you don't know which ones they will like.

Re: bottles....
The size of the nipple refers to how large the opening is and therefore how fast the liquid flows.
They make premie, size 1 (which I think is up to about month 3), size 2 and size 3. So you will start with size 1. I moved DD up to size 2 a few weeks before DS... that was a PITA to try to keep track of which nipple was which because it only has the number on the rim which is usually covered once you put the nipple in the screw on cover. Don't worry about size 2, they may not even like the bottles you register for.
Back in the day, my MIL told me they would just sterilize a needle and poke another whole in the nipple or make the current hole a bit bigger to increase the flow. She when she first heard about the different size nipples.
