A co-worker/friend recently got diagnosed with breast cancer...
Se has been amazing to me all year, and I want to do a little something for her. She is not doing chemo (that is the current plan, at least) but will be having surgery in a few weeks. I wanted to do something for her...
Do you think she would appreciate a GC for carry out?
Or is there anything else I could get her to help make the next few weeks easier on her and her family?
TIA!

A GC for carry out is a great idea. My friend was diagnosed with BC four years ago and tons of people gave her frozen dinners...great idea, but her freezer was packed. The takeout idea is awesome, she can use it when she wants something different and she doesn't have to do anything. to your friend.

Take out is a great idea.
When my best friend was diagnosed a few years ago, the best thing I could do for her was to listen, watch her daughter, help out with her dog.

I was going to suggest frozen dinners or some sort of food. We did this for a good friend who was going through the horrors of breast cancer and they were so appreciative.

If she is having a mastectomy she will not be able to lift her arms or pick up anything for several weeks. when my mom had her surgery she was completely incapacitated.(she had a double mastectomy in 2005) Maybe hire a housecleaner for a day to clean her house or something like that. The GC idea is good but she may not be able to drive to pick it up. Just a thought. Good luck to your friend, I know first hand how difficult it can be for a love one to go through this.
