Cherrywood cabinets....? Granite

You guys are going to get sick of me on this board I am going to need LOTS of decorating tips in the new few months.

Anyway's Dh and I cannot decide if we like the lighter granite counter tops, or the dark to go with the cherrywood cabinets. Pros/Cons...PICS..anything would be great!! Thanks

I'll try to upload some pics for you, our cabinets are cherry (w/ a cocoa glazed distressed finish)....we went w/ granite- dakota mahoghany- its kind of more on the dark side- it has some bluish & mauve-ish tones, we love it!!

We have dark cherry cabinets and our granite is somewhat of a mix. Its semi light.....but has the cherry colored veins throughout. Our floor is also light. I wouldnt go too dark on the counter.........

You can do either or, it's really all about your taste.

We are doing cherry cabinets with bronzino granite which is black granite. We are doing a light floor and a light backsplash to keep things balanced and keep the kitchen from being too dark overall.

We had our hearts set on cherry, mahagony cabinets.

But after carefully considering the location of our kitchen (its north facing) and doesnt get that much light, even though we have alot of windows. Also we are having wood floors throughout.
And want to do a darker color.
And we were going to use a darker granite.

Then we hired an interior designer, who told us that although its gorgeous, it would make our kitchen look very small, dark and closed in.

So we now have white cabinets with a latte glaze, and very light granite called classic white. Its gorgeous, and all stainless appliances, i think its going to be very bright and airy and cheerful.

we went with cherry cabinets and brown/black granite called borealis. but i like the contrast light and dark... in my next house (nowhere in our near future) i will probably do light/white cabinets and dark/black countertops.

my sister has cherry wood cabinets with tan granite. kitchen was remodeled before they bought, so they aren't sure of the color.

we have cherry cabinets with Blue Pearl Granite. It's black/blue/silver/gray flecks in it and we have lighter hardwood floors.

I saw one yesterday on HGTV, Cherrywood cabinets with Black Granite, stainless Appliances and it looked PHAT!!!!!!

I have cherry cabinets and black galaxy granite. I will try to post a pic. One suggestion is that if you choose a darker granite install under cabinet lighting. You will definitely need it.

I have cherry cabinets and black galaxy granite and I hate the granite. Don't get me wrong, it looks beautiful with the cabinets but the black galaxy shows every single finger print...everything. I don't know if that's the case with all dark granite but it's a PITA. I am always cleaning it but even so, every mark shows. I also agree about the amount of natural lighting you get in the room helping decide. Our kitchen is a bit dark as a result of the darker granite. We have lots of lights but I really do wish I went lighter.
