Its teacher appreciation week!! Are any of you classes doing anything special? Today everyone brought in a flower and my room mom put them in a vase and presented them to me! I was really sweet. I am suppose to get a little surprise everyday.

Re: Teacher Appreciation Week!!
Our PTA gave us a beautiful teacher's luncheon. They all baked their specialities... and we have a very diverse district so we had all sorts of unique dishes like sushi, Indian dishes, pastas, etc. and homemade desserts. it was really nice.

Re: Teacher Appreciation Week!!
I am a special area teacher so I won't get things like that but I will have other perks. One of the kids yesterday came around to all the teachers and gave chocolate hugs and kisses to every teacher in the building to say thanks. Tomorrow the administration is giving us a breakfast and the PTA is giving us a lunch. YUM!

Re: Teacher Appreciation Week!!
Ok, this is the one time I love to brag every year about my school I'm openly admitting my bragging rights!
For our Teacher Appreciation Week, we started out with a catered breakfast from IHOP, then during lunch, we had a massage therapist available to us. Ontop of that, an entire table in the faculty apartment was loaded with goodies from Origins, Ulta, and some other places and we were able to take a gift bag and load up on goodies Today, we had the most delicious catered lunch of Thai chicken skewers, steak and shrimp coctail with salads and desserts, plus the massage therapist was back I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

I want to work at your school! Last week we had a dinner from SEPTA, but so far nothing from the PTA.

Wow!! your school is awesome. Monday I got flowers from the class, Tuesday each student brought in a $5 gift card and they presented it to me in a basket, today the room mom brought me lunch from Panera, tomorrow I am getting breakfast, and Friday we are having a luncheon from the PTA and I think my class is giving me a gift certificate to my favorite resturant. I had to answer a whole bunch of questions that my room mom send me last week so they would know what I would like.

Re: Teacher Appreciation Week!!
Monday was the luncheon, and my kids brought me flowers and a tiara, tuesday i got coffee - mug, flavored coffee, etc. Today I got breakfast, and personalized stationary/pens, etc. And I know they're putting together a book.
We've got a really active PTA - and my room mom is like the queen bee - which can be good and bad - right now it's good :)

Re: Teacher Appreciation Week!!
So, we got breakfast AND lunch everyday for the rest of the week, it was awesome! On Wednesday, the parents came around and gave all the teachers these cases that zip up. On the outside it said, "Thanks for a job 'Well Done'", and when you open it up, it's this adorable barbeque utensil set. So cute! Then yesterday we got really cute picture frames, but today was the kicker.......................... They raffled off a week-long vacation in Puerto Rico I didn't win, but my friend did!

Re: Teacher Appreciation Week!!
we had a breakfast provided by parents (though different grade level parents do this once a month on a Friday, but this one was a little more hearty than normal! )....and we had an assembly. This is when teachers that have been at my school in 5 year increments get a pin for their lanyard. It's probably my favorite assembly of the year!
This year the Home & School Assoc organized something new for the assembly...the kids had to write comments about why they think their teacher is great. So they took representative comments of each teacher- so each classroom teacher got one comment read for them.
Specialists were left out. It kinda stung. We do realize though, if they start with the specialists, then they have to list all the special ed teachers and whatnot and it would go on for a long time. Still...we never feel like we get the same recognition. As if we're babysitters or something.
We did get an envelope with all of our comments. I got some cute ones....she's a great teacher because she lets us play instruments...because she has a beautiful singing voice...(that's from my little ones). Funny thing is, the one really thoughtful response, I can't remember what it was! And the kid forgot to write their name on it- I could tell it was an older kid.
