Re: Lasik

I had it done at 36, over 40 now and still see great. I was nearsighted though and didn't need glasses for reading.

Re: Lasik

My mom had it done when she was about 40, (8 years ago). She still sees fine most of the time, but once in awhile she will put on my father's glasses to read (I think only if it's really small print)

I talked to her about it a few weeks ago and it was the first time I heard about it.

Dh went to the doc yesterday for a consult and some friends of his are downplaying the need for reading glasses if you need them now, you will need them after the lasik.

He says he is nearsighted according to the doc so he is saying it won't be that bad and only for when he is reading a newspaper or a book, menu..etc..not when he's on his laptop or anything else like that. Judging by what she said, I'm skeptical.

the doctor said he could use drugstore reading glasses..that's how minimal it would be..I'm still skeptical.
