Baby girl not in the plan ?
Someone I know, not naming names as it may get back to me, is pregnant and now does not want the baby 'cus, get this - she found out the baby is a girl!
It's obviously not my place to say anything to her but this just makes you wonder - duh?
I can understand not wanting the baby 'cus you're not emotionally or financially ready... but because the baby is a girl? What are we, in China?

That's just god awful.
As a mother of both a boy AND a girl, I will tell you that they are both the best thing that have ever happened to me!!
I've never had a preference over gender. I always prayed that they be healthy!

Not only is that disgusting-- but even if you did feel that way, to feel so strongly to actually tell people about it really shows a complete and total self-obessession and a lack of value in human life.
God help that child-- even if it was a boy.

That's what I was thinking, The girl must have a few screws loose. it's appalling and thankfully I'm not related to her by blood.
Hopefully someone from her immediate family talks some sense into her. No baby should be discriminated against because of gender.

my second thought, (hate to be blunt, but I AM always blunt) is that they don't deserve to be parents.

WOW....that's really horrible. Like the PP said even worse that the person let there feelings be known. Maybe I can understand being disappointed but to not want the baby because it is a girl is inexcuseable.

that is just plain awful I wish every day that my little girl were still here and I miss her terribly she should think about that for just a moment or maybe go hang out in an RE office for a few hours and see how distraught some IF woman get I know I have been there

I know someone who used to joke that she better not be having a girl. She found out she was having a girl, she was angry & upset for months. It took awhile to be excited about it. Now she has 2 daughters and wouldn't want it any other way, but 10 years later I still remember her reaction. One of our friends claimed it was a self-hatred issue.
I don't fault her for wanting a boy. I fault her for opening her mouth about her disgust over having a girl. You have a 50/50 shot. The odds are pretty even. I hope it's the shock & your friend gets over it.

oh wow, it really makes me sad hearing this. A baby is an absolute miracle and a blessing. How could someone not want a baby because of the sex?  I knew someone like this and she was upset she was having a boy for the 3rd time..I just dont get it. I didnt care either way what Im having and just pray for a healthy baby. There are such good things about having a girl and great things about having a boy too. Maybe once she has her baby, she will feel better about it and come to her senses.  Does she plan on giving the baby up for adoption b/c of this?

Honestly, I do question this women's ability to be a good mom based on her reaction to having a baby girl.
She has discussed aborting the baby. Sad to think that she would resort to that procedure since this is her first baby too! I can understand if she has only one shot at it, but she's still young so can try for a son in the future...

She is not a mother...I am just so appalled. If you look on LIF alone, all the mothers that have lost children, and those trying to have children, she is a disgrace to herself.

She does not deserve to have children. I can't believe she would consider aborting a child because of the gender. So many of us struggled to just get pregnant and this moron is pregnant and not happy because it's a girl? I don't get it. Stupid moron.
