is throwing up dangerous???
so I have been suffering from 24 hour a day m/s for three weeks.....and it just got so scary....i just got home from work and my husband isnt here (I went to work today after taking it off yesterday because I couldn't stop throwing up)....I was really hungry, so I made some toast.....and then proceeded to throw up for 15 minutes!! seriously, without stopping.....i thought i was going to choke to death...i could barely breath....i know this is a silly question, but do you think you could actually choke from m/s?? I was so dizzy when I finally stopped because I guess I hadn't really been breathing!!
now it hurts to move my chin up or down....my neck and throat are killing me!! has anyone else felt like they pulled a muscle from this??? it really hurts!

Re: is throwing up dangerous???
That sounds pretty severe. I would definitely talk to your OB about medication--Zofran has been a lifesaver for me, and I only have m/s in the morning.
Please take care of yourself--I don't know if it's dangerous, but it's definitely something you don't have to go through.

That sounds really bad! So sorry you are going through that. I throw up but not that severe at all, maybe a few minutes at most. I would definitely call your doctor to let them know how bad it is and they can prescribe you Zofran. I hope you feel better soon, I know it's the absolute worst feeling in the world!!!

Re: is throwing up dangerous???
Are you able to keep any liquids down?
I had the constant nausea and was afraid to eat anything because nothing would stay down. But I was able to keep water down.
Make sure you are getting water because that will help keep you hydrated. You dont want to run the risk of being dehydrated. That is what I was scared of.
Their are medicines out there that will help. I was on Phenergan and it was a blessing

Re: is throwing up dangerous???
luckily I haven't been a victim of m/s, just slight nauseas.
I would def. speak to your OB. That sounds really severe.

Re: is throwing up dangerous???
I felt the same way during some of my sessions in the 1st trimester...then when the nosebleeds started it almost became comical
I would speak with your Dr if you're concerned...for me, I just rode it out and thankfully it ended around the 16th week.

Re: is throwing up dangerous???
I had the same problem..i am still sick at 14 weeks but I am taking Zofran and it does the trick. I was throwing up everything all day and night and doing the whole choking thing too, ugh..it is so brutal..I feel alot of sympathy for you. At the point you are at, ask for Zofran. I know alot of people who have taken it and it has done NOTHING to the baby..it is more important you stay healthy and somewhat functional. My OB took it for all her kids and said it is no big deal. Hang in there.

Re: is throwing up dangerous???
Oh my god, I feel so bad for you! You poor thing! Call your Dr. ASAP!!! I suffered from pretty bad ms, but NOTHING like you wrote about! My Dr. gave me Reglan, and it helps a little, but in your case, they should definitely give you Zofran. At this point, your ms is probably dangerous. Keep us posted!

Re: is throwing up dangerous???
I had the same issue and was put on zofran, I only took it when I really really needed it. I had broken capilaries all over my face and chest from throwing up and yes there were times I thought I would choke, I brought my cell w/ me into the bathroom just in case ask your doc for the zofran to get you through
