Anyone not Christening their child?
DH and i plan not to baptize our child when the day eventually comes. We plan to do a blessing though.
I was wondering, those of you who wont do a formal baptism, will you still choose godparents?

Re: Anyone not Christineing their child?
We don't plan on baptizing our baby either. Instead, we are going to have a "Welcome to the World" celebration so that everyone can meet her. We are not going to pick godparents.

Re: Anyone not Christineing their child?
No baptism here either
No godparents
If she wants to be baptized later that's up to her.

Re: Anyone not Christineing their child?
We are not baptizing. I'd also like to have just a welcome party to celebrate the baby. Probably won't pick god parents either.

We are having a Welcoming party and will most likely not be picking Godparents.

Re: Anyone not Christening their child?
DD is not baptized and this baby won't be either. DH and I refuse to do it for show or to make people happy. It's not something we practice or believe in. If we're not baptizing there really is no point in choosing godparents are meant to help you raise your child in god and religion.
