wall art with fabric question

i want to put fabric onto canvas for my dd's room. where do i get the canvas blocks from?

does it have to be canvas? what else can i use to apply the fabric to? i want to do 4 squares. thanks

you can just buy the canvas at ACMoore in the painting dept. they come in different sizes.

or you can buy just the frames and stretch the fabric over the frame.
