How would you handle this?

So I got a call out of the blue from a headhunter about a great job. She sent in my resume, and it turns out they already have it. Chat Icon

I have only been looking for a new job for about 3 weeks now. While I did speak to some headhunters and posted my resume on monster, no one called me about this position.

So what would you do? I wonder who sent in my resume- and I think they did so without my authority.

Re: How would you handle this?

it depends what you want to do. I've applied online for jobs and some of them never call me. Some of them are agencies that pass on resumes to companies.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Do you want to pursue the job or are you annoyed that someone may have passed your resume on without you knowing?

Some companies post their own ads and then use an agency or headhunter as well.

Its possible they found it on monster. I'd let it be but if your really curious you can always call the company.

Did the company call you for an interview?

If an internal recruiter pulled it off monster, then the company would not pay an agency fee.

No, I never got called for an interview.

I am interested in the position, but I don't even know what the next step would be for me.

I guess I was concerned that headhunters were getting my resume and passing it around without my consent.

I would call the company. Not to see how they got it but as a follow-up.
