SERIOUSLY SICK OF NOT BEING PREGNANT
OK. So first let me start out by saying that I am upset that I missed the GTG last week. I just saw the post now. I really woud've loved to attend.
I have belonged to this site for a long time but haven't really posted much.
I need to vent.
DH and I have been trying to get pregnant for 1 year and 7 months already. I was diagnosed with PCOS and have been on Clomid for several months. I just had my 2nd IUI which was not successful- HCG Quantitative test was NEG. Just got my period today.
I am so depressed. I think between my friends and DH's friends, EVERYONE is either pregnant, or expecting any minute now or has newborns. I feel happy for our friends yet bitter at the same time. I hate it. I hate feeling this way. I hate feeling crappy and sick from this whole process and I have nothing to show for it. All these symptoms I have, which seem to be pregnancy symptoms, aren't. I feel awful and alone. I know I'm not alone just by reading all the posts on this page. But-it doesn't make it any easier.
I just bought the book " A few Good Eggs" in the effort to try to cheer up and read the light hearted side (if there is one) of infertility. I'm trying. Trying to hang in there and trying to be happy for everyone around me who has a new baby or a "belly". It's not easy as I am sure many of you know.
I am so scared this may never happen for us.
I am so hoping to attend the next get together. It would be great to meet some of you who were in the same boat.
Thanks for reading.

Re: SERIOUSLY SICK OF NOT BEING PREGNANT
Welcome. Hope your stay here is short. Quite a few of us have PCOS (myself included). So many of us could've written your post, and probably have at some point. Please know that we're here for you if you have any questions or want to vent, etc.... I don't think you mentioned- are you seeing an RE or an OB/GYN? I noticed you said you've been on clomid for several months- are you being closely monitored? Clomid can be known to thin your lining after too much use and has a lifetime maximum of I believe 12 cycles, in which it should be used (which is broken up into at least 2 groupings of 6 cycles each or less)... just want to make sure you're being monitored, b/c that could end up causing a problem in the long run after being on it for several months. Everyone's different but my dr put me on it for 3 months before moving to injectables... one at 50, one at 100, and one at 150. GL to you!!!

Re: SERIOUSLY SICK OF NOT BEING PREGNANT
I've been in the same boat as you and it hurts SO MUCH.....The only consolation I can give you is that the women on this board can and will give you tons of support, whenever you need it...

Exactly- and MrsMessina is right. You should make sure you are monitored by an RE while taking Clomid. Most OB's aren't as well-schooled on IF treatment as they should be. The good news is that PCOS is one of the most easily treated causes of IF, so you will be pregnant soon. Keep your chin up and keep trying!

Re: SERIOUSLY SICK OF NOT BEING PREGNANT
Thanks for the kind words. I know that many of you on here really truly understand where I am coming from and it's nice to know that.
I am being monitored by a RE at Cornell. This will be 7th round of clomid I believe. Seeing the doc next week so I am going to ask him a few quesitons about what is "not" going on here.
I think one of the toughest things (besides not being able to actually get pregnant) is talking about it with people who are pregnant or have kids. I feel like a complainer. And althought all of our friends are really ultra supportive I have found myself talking about it less and less with people.

First off, welcome and we are here for you whenever you need the support. As for your treatments, 7 rounds of Clomid is alot without a result. My RE recommended 3 tries of any particular treatment before moving on to something else. Have you discussed injections with IUI or IVF? I don't know what your insurance covers. HTH!
