Ceiling fan that plugs in?
I was just wondering if there is a ceiling fan that doesn't get attached to a ceiling socket, but can be wired to an outlet.
Anyone know?

my husband added the cord to plug into the wall since there was no overhead light in the room. We use a deocorative chain to drape it over and down the wall. He's pretty handy and figured it out quick

It's fairly easy to add a plug to a hardwired fixture. I did that with a wall sconce. Now it's a plug-in wall lamp. All it takes is two wire nuts and a 6' piece of lamp cord. Should take about 5 minutes and cost about $5. For a fan, though, you would want a cord longer than 6', but it still won't cost very much.

Keep in mind that you still need to mount it securely to a ceiling joist, and you'll need to staple the cord along the ceiling so it won't droop down and hit the blades.... The cord needs to be long enough to run along the ceiling to the wall, then down the wall to the outlet.
