WWYD- Need advice
OK, I HATE my job. I hate my bosses. I don't like the work and I hate being here on a daily basis. I hate leaving my beautiful little girl to be unappreciated and made to feel like an idiot on a regular basis. I had an awful review (the first of my entire career), and I basically feel like I am being pushed out.
I have been looking for a new job for 2 months.
Now I think I am getting a job offer on Monday for another firm that does the same kind of work that I do. Its a bigger firm, pays less and provides less benefits. I really don't want to do this kind of work anymore, but I would consider it for the right offer. However, I think this new place will also have bad environment.
I have one other option in the pipeline, that a firm is interested in interviewing me in mid-august. It actually sounds like my ideal situation: the kind of work I want, lots of women associates, etc... Who knows if that still true and if it will even happen. I think I am very qualified for the job, but you never know.
I am still sending out resumes on a daily basis and being very aggressive about looking for a new job.
So what do I do? Should I take a job knowing I don't think its what I want- just to get out of here? Or do I suck it up and stick it out until I find something else or they fire me.

I would suck it up until I found something else. I do think you start to hate it more once you've started looking, but I wouldn't take a job & then leave it if another job offer came in. That could come back & bite you in the azz later on.

I agree. Hold out for the right job.
So sorry you are miserable. I've been there.

Thanks girls! i know, I agree with you. But days like today, I am SO miserable. My boss just doesn't know how to talk to people. Everytime he speaks to me, I feel like he thinks I'm an idiot. Its just so aggressive.

Re: WWYD- Need advice
picture your boss when he was an associate working until 3am on a litigation matter. Picture that for 10 days straight and each day see him more and more aggravated and haggard.
In your head, it may level things to give you the strength to carry on.
lastly, fantasize how great it will be to tell him to kiss your azz goodbye!

It is always better to look for a job while you have one. I know things are tough now..I've definitely been there before. The right job will come along before you know it! Hang in there!

I would stick it out until you find something that is the right fit. The devil you know is better then the devil you don't.

Stick it out until you find something better. God forbid, you lose your job, you can always do contract work and STILL probably make more than this potential offer.

Re: WWYD- Need advice
I would not take a new job knowing it'll be more of the same. Wait it out and keep pressing for the kind of job/work you know you want to do. A little bit patience will pay off big time. The pain at your current job is temporary, you will find a job you like, just a matter of time!!
