Re: Anyone been to the Melting Pot in Farmingdale?
I've never been to the one in Farmindale, I live in NJ and have gone there. But I would imagine they are all the same.
My take is:
They are very pricey The entree's - EH... I hated that you have to cook the food yourself.
IMO - if you are going to go, just go for the cheese fondue and the dessert - the chocolate fondue.

I completely agree with this. We went to the one in Farmingdale last Saturday for the first time and we loved the cheese fondue and the chocolate fondue, but were not too fond of the entree.

I have to third this. We had a company party there. I didn't care for the entree at all. The cheese and chocolate fondues are outstanding. Very pricey, but if you're looking for a nice relaxing evening it's good. With cooking the food and what not, it's a long drawn out dinner which some people like.

I have been to the one in DC. I wasn;t crazy about it. If I ever go again, it will be for cheese and dessert, not an entree.

yes, it's great for a group b/c you can do the "big night out" and try different cheese, entree, and dessert fondues.

Re: Anyone been to the Melting Pot in Farmingdale?
I went last week with friends - it was easy to get reservations. we just did cheese fondue, salad and chocolate fondue and soda and it was $32 pp so fairly pricey IMO. I didn't know the concept about cooking your own food luckily my gf filled me in before we got there. Kind of disgusting IMO to have raw meat sitting on the table and honestly, I don't know about anyone else, but I don't go out to have to cook my own food. I doubt I will go back bc there are so many more restaurants that I'd rather go to where the food comes to me cooked. The fondues were yummy but not worth it to me.

ITA. The friends I went with was far better than the food
(while ok, it was very pricey for bread to dip in cheese and a small plate of various fruits to dip in chocolate).

Me 2. I hated the entree, but the chocolate and cheese fondue were good.

ITA---we actually went for our anniversary couple of weeks ago. Loved the cheese and chocolate fondues. We had the "big nite out". If we go back it would just be for cheese and dessert.
