Stony Brook Hospital Interview
A friend of mine interviewed for a research foundation a few weeks ago. Does anyone know what their process is...how long it takes for the interviewee to hear something?

I work at stony brook. The policy is two interviews. The first is preliminary. If the search cmte likes you, they will call you back for a 2nd. Usually after the 2nd, they make a decision within a week/two.
The time between the 1st and 2nd is usually 1-2 weeks.
Thus, getting a job can take a good month or two depending on how quick HR is.

just an update to this, if your friend hasn't heard anything, there is now a hiring freeze for MOST positions, depending on where the funding is coming from, so she may not hear at all.

The hiring freeze does not affect research positions, so that job shouldn't be affected. Research positions aren't state funded.
