Ladies please take my advice!
After reading these grooming posts I have to say how nice it is to be clean and freshly waxed lol. I started getting brazilians over 2 years ago, and haven't stopped during pregnancy. I'm now 36 weeks and HUGE, and still do it. It feels so good to be nice and clean and i'm sure it's easier for the doctors to see whats going on down there. I wish every pregnant woman would go get waxed and be as happy as I am! It's only painful for a second, and not embarassing at all. The first time it's awkward but after the first minute or two it's nothing!

me too! my friend's a gyno and said it doesn't matter at all in terms of them checking you out, unless there is a rash or something under the hair.

Re: Ladies please take my advice!
I've gotten Brazillians many a time, and for some reason the second I got pregnant I just freaked out that it would hurt more...oh well I think I'm going to bite the bullet and just do it for my Dr's sake

You must have a mugh higher pain threshold than I do. I had a bikini wax at 14 or 15 weeks and it was much more painful than pre-pregnancy. I have sensitive skin to begin with, but I definitely had a worse reaction that time. I haven't gone back since then.

Re: Ladies please take my advice!
I guess it's all a personal preference. I happen to have very sensitive skin to begin with, and now being pregnant, I'm even more sensitive.
No waxing for me.

Depends on what kind of wax they use on you....
They SHOULD NOT be using the regular wax like they use for eyebrows... the waxy yellow colored one...
They should be using a pink or lavender colored wax on you for sensitive skin... I know cuz that's what I have. Had it done by the Bliss Spa in the city years ago, and it didn't hurt at all, and better than that - MY SKIN HAD NO REACTION AT ALL!

Re: Ladies please take my advice!
Got to be honest here and this is TOTALLY my opinion. I think grown women with no hair down there look a little odd and I'd think a lot of guys would agree. I'm all for keeping a clean shop but I don't like to look like a little girl.

I just bite the bullet and shave (with assistance at this point) when I have a Drs appointment. I wish I could just go & get a BW.

Funny- I thought my man was the only one who felt this way. He HATES that too. He won't let me do it ever- he says he gets so turned off by it and feels like he is with a little girl. I once shaved it completely to see how it would look and he got SO mad... said he coulnd't get turned on and felt like a pedophile. I like it either way personally- but he is really insistant that i keep at least something down below....

I honestly don't remember the color of the wax, but I've gone there before and was ok. I have bruised in the past from waxing though. I've had people comment before about my extremely sensitive skin.
I don't think they used a different wax last time, but I definitely had a worse reaction. I think my skin is that much more sensitive during pregnancy.

Re: Ladies please take my advice!
I go to Nature's Touch in East Setauket and they make their own sugar wax...I think that's why it's not so painful....and my DH couldn't love it more
