Re: Petco vaccinations?
I took Ebony once and it was fine --- shots are not rocket science so I wouldn't worry.

Re: Petco vaccinations?
I've been taking Misty there for the last two years. It's around $125 for all the shots and a years worth of heartworm pills as opposed to almost $300 at my regular vet. Just make sure you save the paperwork and give it to your regular vet so they know your pet has been vaccinated.

Re: Petco vaccinations?
Petco does give cheaper vaccines, but they are not known for doing great examinations. The most important part of the yearly vaccine/check up is the actual examination of your pet. This is where vets can pick up on potential problems/growths/cancers, etc.

Re: Petco vaccinations?
Definetly recommend it. The prices are great and ofcourse they are vets too, so they know what they are doing. I go to the one in Baldwin and the Vet is super nice and so are his assistants
I do go to another vet for exams. I don't even know if they do exams at petco...i kinda thought it was just vaccinations...

Re: Petco vaccinations?
I heard that they didn't do exams or the exams were not the best (I'm not sure which)...I think the vets that work at PETCOs are not the best vets out there.
Maybe you could do vaccines with PETCO and an exam with your vet? I have no idea if that would be a savings, I don't know what your vet charges for exam fees.

they are not petco vets they are luvmypet vets and all you do is shots
to be a responsible pet owner, you still NEED to see your regular vet
I go to petco yearly to get his shots done for 50 dollars. I then submit all the records to my regular vet. I do 6month exams, not yealy with the regular vet.

Thank you but I do consider myself a responsible pet owner! This was going to be the first time I was trying it, so i just wanted some feedback! Of course I would take her for a annual exam, but If I can save on the prices of shots and they are the same why not?

ooooooh you took it the wrong way! i did not say that you were not a responsible dog owner
I was just stating it clearly that someone should not only get vacciinations and not see a regular vet especially for people that lurk but do not post on this board. I assumed you had a regular vet too and would only use petco for shots!

Re: Petco vaccinations?
Why not go there. Just bring the paperwork when you do go to your vet. But why not if you can get it cheaper.
Good Luck next week!!
