I'm kinda freaking out....

I know this is premature, and if it turns out the way I think it will- it will be a good problem to have. But I am kinda freaking out right now.

So I accepted a job for the city. I came to peace with the salary cut and got excited about helping people and having decent hours. I accepted the job, but because of red tape, I haven't been "processed" yet and I still have to meet with the commissioner. They didn't think I'd start until after the New Year.

So all of a sudden I get three calls for interviews- 2 headhunters and another govt agency. I sent my resume to all these places in AUGUST! So I go on all the interviews.

And they all went well The govt job I couldn't gage, but the firms went well and I have been invited back for a second interview. The firms pay a good deal more than I am currently making. And since we REALLY need the money right now, its something I woudl have to consider if I get it.

I am going to hear from the private firms next week. I am a bundle of nerves. And of course yesterday as I was entering the interview, my future boss calls me to set up a final interview with the commissioner (just a formality, I already have been offered the job).

I know its premature, and I know if I get an offer, its a good thing. But I am such a basket case. I couldn't sleep last night.

Good luck with all this! However it works out, you'll do what you think is right and you'll be fine

I know how you feel. I was in a similar position a week or so ago. WHen the time comes, you'll have to weigh all of your options & chose what is best for you & family. Don't stress.. this is a better situation than no offers at all

I would think about which one offers you the most long-term security.

Good luck and this is such a great problem for you to have. Better to have tons of options in this economy I would evaluate the industry of all the jobs and the stability that they have in the current market. It might be worth it to take a paycut and be in a stable place like the city then to go for a job with better pay but you dont know how long it will last.
