First appt.- what to expect?

I have my first appt. next Thursday. I will be 7 1/2 weeks. What can I expect?

It varies by doctor. In my first appt. at 8 weeks, they took blood and urine, and then I just spent about an hour with my doctor, discussing the pregnancy, future appts, and any questions we may have. I didn't hear the heartbeat or have a sono until 12 weeks, though some offices do those earlier.

at my first appointment they did sneak me in and I did have a sono done at 7weeks. You go over family history of illness and DH etc. I gave blood the next day. But like Beth said all Dr are different!! Good luck I'm sure those 2 weeks feel like forever!!!!

I just came back from one. I have an appointment in January with a new doctor, but I made an appointment with my current doctor anyway.
She took ALOT of blood, and did an ultrasound (I think it is that, it is the stick they put in you and check if they see anything?) Well, she did that. I am only 4 weeks so we did not see anything. I am going for more blood on Friday so they can compare.
