Baby room decorating ideas
I am due to have my 2nd child in March. I have a son that is 2 1/2. I don't know what I'm having. When the new baby arrives, the kids will have to share a room. My problem is that I cannot think of a good theme to decorate the room in. If I have a boy, it'll be easy, I have a few things in mind. But if I have a girl...I am clueless as for what to do. I really want to do the bedding really girly on her side, and very boyish for my son, but I just can't think of anything that will flow together. Can anyone help me with some ideas??? I was thinking of maybe pirates and mermaids, but I can't find any mermaid crib bedding, and I don't want to do The Little Mermaid, anyway.

Re: Baby room decorating ideas
if you can look up mermaid fabric somewhere online, and find something you like and order it...the vendor on here Eileens Kids custom bedding, is AMAZING...or just email her and maybe she has the fabric already...if you look in my album, i picked most of my own fabric with help from her on a few pieces..and she made my whole set, it is GORGEOUS..and shes VERY competitively priced..check out her ad on here!! i highly recommend her..

How about Knights and Princesses?
His side can be horses, swords, knights, castles, etc, and her side can be princesses.
There's the totally neutral stuff like fruit, alphabet, animals, etc.

That's a very clever suggestion and Ikea has plenty of knights, castle stuff that is gender neutral. They also had circussy stuff that was either boy, girl or gender neutral that you could combine so that they each get their look but it matches perfectly.
You can also do something less themey like pick stripes or polka dots and you can do two different colors that will still coordinate but one can be more girl colors and one can be more boyish.

Re: Baby room decorating ideas
I would probably go a pottery barn route in that situation... nice country-esque linens in a red white and blue theme.... DS could have boats or cars with it primarily being blue and red, and DD could have primarily white with red and blue flowers emrboidered on the linens.... Furniture would be white wood.... here are pics to just to convey my thoughts.... (I really imagine the girl linens being the same hue of blue and red as the boys... a bit darker than the pic)

In that situation I would go neutral with some cute accents like cowboys and horses or something...
