Do you plan your own Bday celebrations?
I am so sick of planning everyone elses and now my bday is next week and DH says "what do you want to do on your bday?"?
I am so mad..i told him i would stay home before I PLAN anything
For his bday he did no planning and I arranged an entire day of fun and I got babysitters
ok--vent over I am not even one of those people who make a big deal over their bday--a dinner out would suffice

DH asks me what restaurant I'm in the mood to go to and then he takes care of it.
I bake my own cake - I don't trust him on that one.

Re: Do you plan your own Bday celebrations?
I think I hate it since I always plan things for everyone else--what we do for his family, what we do for DS and my family etc
so....sometimes I would like if someone took the reins
He told me I am hard to shop for, but this is my list of what i like
spas books beauty products jewelry (not watches like he likes)
How is this hard?

Re: Do you plan your own Bday celebrations?
DH plans, everyone else makes excuses, makes me uptight and I wound up not thoroughly enjoying a really nice time that DH set up. Next year it better be just him and me. That's it. I'm tired of people whining about going out and having a good time, since when is having fun an issue?

He usually plans a romantic dinner between the two of us, but I plan the party with our friends.

Re: Do you plan your own Bday celebrations?
I plan everyone's bday celebrations. I always try to plan something special for DH. Usually a nice dinner just the two of us, and then have friends meet up for drinks. And for the past two years I have sent DH on golf trips with his brother and friends for his bday. I always make all plans regarding my own bday, and I often step up to plan for friends and family too. It would be so nice if just once someone could plan something for me.

If I didn't plan, we'd never do anything, and that includes birthdays, weekends, vacations, dinners out... So that's a yes.

Re: Do you plan your own Bday celebrations?
I tend to plan my birthday...and everyone else.
I would like to not have to worry about it...but I don't forsee that happening.
DH did plan my suprise 30th along with a few of my friends....so I should give them credit there.
generally I am the planner and they just follow my lead.

No, but I'm not big on my birthday and most people know it so there really aren't even any "plans" that day.

Re: Do you plan your own Bday celebrations?
My thoughts on this subject are never popular.
I am not a big birthday person. I feel that the only people who should truly remember it are my parents and DH. Everyone else is a bonus and I am never offended if someone forgets. I don't need a celebration year after year. I don't need to be in the spotlight. If someone wants to do something for me, terrific. If not, I'll never do it myself. I just do not think it is necessary after a certain point. However, if someone wanted to make me a party, I would be happy to provide them with a list of guests I would want to share the occasion with if it made things that much easier.
I know people who make themselves b-day parties year after year and their birthday's become national holidays. I think it gets to be a little much.

Re: Do you plan your own Bday celebrations?
I would rather DH ask what I would like to do then to plan something I would hate doing. Usually his idea of what I would like and my idea are usually quite different so I welcome that question

Re: Do you plan your own Bday celebrations?
I sort of plan it. I usually tell DH three restaurants that I want to pick from and maybe on other activity. I dont really expect anyone else to care that its my birthday LOL
this year was my first "married" birthday so my mom planned a special sunday dinner for me which was nice
