kennel cough

Is vomiting associated with the cough? We think our puppy might have it. I wasn't sure if it was the food we were giving her. We just brought her home yesterday.

Where did you get her from? Did they tell you what they were feeding her? If so, are you giving her the same thing or did you just buy food and give it to her?
If she is coughing a lot and it's sort of a dry, hacking type of cough then it's Kennel Cough. If she is just throwing up, then it might be the change of food. Maybe try giving her smaller amounts at a time...it may be easier for her to adjust. Ideally, you are supposed to slowly mix the old food in with the new food.
My mom's dog had kennel cough, but he rarely threw up...if he did it was just acid...usually when a dog throws up there is that weird convulsing that they do right beforehand, kennel cough isn't usually that deep.
Good luck, she has to go to the vet for shot's and a checkup anyway, so I would definitely ask the vet.

have her checked out. my chihuahua used to throw up as a pup whenever she was nervous or excited....... she still does from time to time.

but it could be something so get her looked at.

did she come from a pet shop? those pups often have problems

We did get her from a pet store that I swore I would never buy a dog from, but I just fell in love with her. We brought her to the vet already this morning and she has kennel cough, ear mites and they gave her antibiotics. They were very concerned about her vomiting and if she keeps it up, I have to bring her back in tomorrow for x-rays. I just wonder how long has she been sick like this. I feel bad that so many dogs live in those conditions in the pet store.
