How stupid are people?
I have this same conversation with strangers every single time I go out with the twins:
Stranger: oh they are so cute, boy and girl?
Me: yep, boy and girl
Stranger: oh are they identical?
Me: uh, no they are a boy and girl
Stranger: oh, so they don't look alike?
Me: um, no they are a boy and girl....

I had the same conversation, over and over.
When they were newborns and cluster feeding (a.k.a, not being able to leave the house) I once made a very quick trip to Michael's. While on line the woman behind me started talking to me...I think her 4th or 5th annoying/inappropriate question was, "Are they identical?"
Well, I was sleep deprived and tired of the ignorant comments (I mean this is high school biology people, it's on the NYS Regents exam) so I just snapped  looked her straight in the eye and said, "Lady, they are boy/girl, trust me, when I change their diapers, THEY ARE NOT IDENTICAL! Are you and your husband identical???"
YES, I did
It gets better. Once they are out of the snap-and-go the comments decrease.

I got this question while I was pregnant and I still do. Not only are they boy/girl, but they look nothing alike. People are crazy.

DS is now 5 lbs bigger then DD 
so lately when people look at them they say
"oh, I thought you said they were twins"

I am a twin...I'm 35 years old and I have been asked, when's your birthday? Oh that's nice...when is your sister's birthday Uh...duh we're twins...her birthday is the same day
It never ends ladies!

I got that too.
I have hazel eyes & brown hair & am 5'3". My twin sister has blond hair & blue eyes & is 4'11". When we mentioned we were twins, people would ask "Oh, are you identical?"
I would always answer, "Do you know what the word identical means?"
Without question, many people do not know the difference between fraternal or identical.

Laura - My boys were born at 3 10 and 6 10 so when they were about 2 months old people were asking me which one was older, not in the who was born a minute earlier kind of way. I was thinking - okay - they are not the same size and one is alot bigger but could they be 4 months apart? I am not sure how that would work.
