Nieces and nephews?

Do you have them? What is your relationship like with them? Also, do they ask you about giving them cousins?

I have nine of them and am very close with a few. My nephew in particular is a teen and still comes over for weekends, we take him to the city or out to new places. At family gatherings, I'm typically hanging out with the kids rather than the adults.

When the kids were younger, one of them did ask me why I didn't want to have children. I told her that they were little brats and why would I want a brat of my own when I have them? But that was a hard one to answer seriously, because how do you explain that? Especially when their religion dictates they should marry and bear children?

Because I'm close with them and enjoy spending time with them, I do get the inevitable "But you're so good with kids!" which doesn't upset me. I do agree, most of the time I am good with kids, but we all know parenting has a lot more to it than I how we play with them.

We have a niece and nephew. My niece is two and is always asking when we are having a baby. It's actually really cute, just not too cute when her parents chime in

I have a 6 y/o niece and twin 2 y/o nephews and they are as close to my DH and I as if they were our own.
I wanted them to call us Tia and Tio (rather than Aunt and Uncle) because I wanted our relationship with them to be special

My husband and I often have my niece come and sleep over at our house...they play Wii or we all watch movies. Its our special time to spend just with her.

She asked me once about having a baby and I told her I didnt need one of my own since I had her (and her brothers). that seemed to nip it in the bud any other questions.

I have a 2 year old niece
I am her godmother
We have a good relationship and i spend time with her often

I am getting my first nephew in June and my 2nd niece or nephew in September. We'll see how it goes.

With my upcoming nephew I have been a little less than welcoming because my sister is only 17 but lately I have softened up and have started spoiling the boy already. Im sure when he's here he will melt my heart.

I have 15 nieces and nephews, the oldest two are turning 16 in the next month or two. I am VERY close with some, somewhat close to some, and not close at all to others. I have two that could be my clones, just younger. I have 3 godchildren.

I'm the cool aunt because I crack jokes with them, I have sleepovers with them and I get them awesome presents. Stuff they want, not need.

I have 8 nieces and nephews ranging in age from 3 to 17. i guess if you include DH's nieces & nephews that's another 6 too. (they live OOS and i've never met them though--so i don't really count them)

all of the kids are OOS except for 2--my brother splits custody with their mom and i see them much more. My oldest niece who is 17, i'm very close to, and we talk all the time. the ones that are OOS - when they are in town, we have a great time and i take them out and i get to be the "cool Titi". i love them all to death and its fun spoiling them and sending them home!

I have 4 nieces.

at first they were asking me for a cousin, now they don't want ANY, b/c they love all the attention I give to them and they don't want a baby stealing their spotlight oh well.

I am very close with the 3 that live here. the newest one, Emmalicious, lives in north western PA and I don't get to see as much, which makes me sad.

I also have 3 godsons, and a few little cousins that I am also very close with.

I love kids. it's their parents that turn me off to the idea of becoming one.

I have 16 nieces and nephews and the 17 will be born in April. I also have 6 great nieces and nephews!! I wish I lived closer to my family because I would just love to do so much with them. We visit with them every chance we get,t hough. My DH has nieces and nephews that are closer but we have never felt like we are welcomed in their life. As a matter of fact they dont invite us for birthday parties or family events anymore. That all changed when we had to say "no" to one of the birthday party invites becauase I had to have my first uterus biopsy and we knew I just would not be up for a party. I guess they thought we were lying.

I have two nephews. They are my heart. They are part my kids I swear. My brother lived upstairs from me up until 6 months ago so I really grew up with the kids (they are 4 and 1). I probably spoil the older one way too much but when he looks at me with those long eyelashes and says "Titi pleaseeee" its hard to say no lol.

I have a niece and nephew who I am godmother to. I love them both to pieces. My sister doesn't live very far from us so I see them often and watch them for her on the weekends when needed.
FH also has 2 nephews and a niece. He is godfather to all of them and I am godmother to the youngest nephews.We don't see them as often because they live in NJ. But we try to coordinate our visits to the ILs in NJ with FH's sister so we can see the kids.

Three nieces. One is less than a week old.

DH and I always want to know what they're up to, see them or at least see pictures. I can't wait until they get older so we can have sleepovers and I can take them shopping.

i have one of each (twins) they ask occasional and I just say well if I did have a kid I wouldn't want to hang out with you anymore IoI They understand I am kidding but its a way to get them to stop asking me.

We have 4, two of each! Love em all to pieces and they know it!! the older ones come for sleep overs all the time and I take time off from work to watch them when my sister needs help (like when she was in the hospital having #4).
We, our family, believes in the "it takes a village" concept so it would be odd for DH and I not to be super involved and my sister loves it! And even asks for advice sometimes!!

I have 7 nieces and nephews ranging from almost 13 to 1 month.

My 13 year old nephew looks at me like a buddy and I love how the kids say we are the best aunt and uncle. He said he can't wait to introduce me to his friends at his Bar Mitzvah as his "Cool Aunt Michelle"

My four nieces are mushballs and I am by far their fav! They love their "kitten cousins" and my SIL (I have three) who just had the newborn said that it was up to us for them to have more cousins. But at 8,7,7, and 4-they love Cool Aunt Michelle and their two kitten cousins! We don't tell them anything about the fact that we are trying to make them a cousin or anything of that nature. I don't want to get them excited since we are TTC for 5 mos already and in kid time, that is an eternity. Also, they repeat EVERYTHING and this would start drama in his family. They do ask, but we say one day.

Meanwhile, who else gives them Aunt Michelley Salon time (I hang out with them because my ILs are detestable with the exception of FIL and one SIL and my two BILs that married into the cult.

I have a Nephew and a Niece, My Nephew is 11 going to be 12 year's old in june and my Niece is 7 year's old..She is my goddaughter and could be my clone, My mom sometimes accidently calls my niece by my name and I get called by my niece's name.. Dh has 1 niece and 2 nephews, The age ranges from 13, 15, 16. Dh's niece is his goddaughter, So in a way we have 2 daughters, She is 16.

I have four nephews and two nieces. They are my life! I love them so very much and love to hear every little detail about their lives. I often refer to them as my babies. They range in age from 10 months to 5 years. My hubby and I have nicknames for each one of them.

If my husband and I decide to remain childless, I would be completely happy spoiling my sister's children. I am still searching for the female chip that tells me to have my own, but I'm having a really difficult time finding it.

I have a niece & 2 nephews who are my bro's that i am extremely close with...and 2 nephews on DH's side we see like once a year...

my bro's kids are my world...i love them to death...and i've even told my bro that god forbid something happened to him & SIL i would take them in a heartbeart & raise them..and change my life around & my "no kid" policy..

but i must say after spending all day with them or having them sleep over I enjoy the peace & quiet later...which is probably why i enjoy them so much...it's not 24 hours a day

My niece is only 6 months old.
My Godchildren think they're the center of my universe and probably would prefer it to stay that way.
I don't blame them one bit.

DH and I have a goddaughter from my BFF, she just turned 15 and we are very close to her.

I have a nephew from my sister who is 2, I wish I saw him more often, but my relationship with her is strained and they live far.

DH has 2 nephews and 1 niece, we see them very often and have a good relationship with them.

I Have a 2 year old nepew and a 1 month of nephew who im very close too. i see them like everyday. i barely see my niece. maybe once or twice a month. im sorry to say this but she is rude. she doesnt play with 2 year old nephew. she says he to wild but he just like to play. he can play for hours and hes a good baby.i can have more covo with him then i do with her. i think they still are too little to ask me but my brothers do all the time.

i have nephews, and a niece
they are all older...no young babies, unless you count their children...2 nephews have 3 children between them

My oldest nephew is 11 years younger than me and I didn't want to be an 'aunt' as a teenager, so none of them call me 'aunt'

their kids can call me aunt....I certainly don't want to be be great aunt I'm not old enough

I love the relationship I have with them

i have 4..one on the way..they are from dhs family tho..but i still consider them mine!!
