If you take an actual lunch break
Do you count it as part of your 8 hour work day?
i do, but only because hours are lax at universities if you do things like research. I'm assuming it is more strict in the real world?

Our workday is 8.5 hours and we're allowed 45 minutes for lunch. We then have a half-hour deducted and the company pays us for the other 15 mins that we're on lunch.

I take a one hour lunch break that does not count towards my 8 hours of work per day.
So I spend an actual 9 hours a day at work

Our lunch is 43 minutes, the same as every other period. I do count that into my day's hours.

When I work a full day, it comes out to be 11 hours minus a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break.
But our downtime is 1245-215 so i can take thattime if i need it, but i usually try to get things done after my 1/2 hour

Same with us - though I don't think I've actually had an uninterrupted, student-free lunch period in a LONG time.

our work hours are 8:30-5:30 with an hour for lunch, which we do not get paid for.
that said, I can't even remember the last time I took a lunch hour, or even 1/2 a lunch hour.

I work in higher ed....
Don't really take lunch.
Usually eat a slice of pizza for about 5 minutes. I get a "paid" lunch though.
Supposed to be 40 hour work week but I actually work much more (like many others).

My job is the same... We also get 2 15 minute breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon... however I can't remember the last time I used one of those!

my hours are 8-6 but I rarely work them. I work about 10-12 hours a day. I work through lunch and I get paid OT for it since I work more than 8 hours a day.
I rarely step out for lunch and if I have an appt outside the office I deduct the time on my timesheet.

Same here. Sometimes I don't even take a break and end up working the 9 hours.
