Looking for cheaper homeowner's insurance
I noticed my mortgage payment went up this month and it's b/c my homeowner's went up to $1,800. I feel like that is a bit expensive. I have State Farm.
ETA: So far I have called All State, Gieco and Liberty Mutual and none of them are writing policy's in Nassau at this time.

Re: Looking for cheaper homeowner's insurance
Try another Liberty Mutual. They 'no longer write policies" by location. Each location has a quota.
I just got mine through Liberty Mutual in Uniondale. And it was cheaper than any other company by over $150/yr for home insurance and $500/yr for car insurance. Ask for Brendan Ripple.
ETA: no matter what company you call ask for their discount programs --- many have corporate discounts, college alumni discounts, etc ....

Re: Looking for cheaper homeowner's insurance
Try calling State Farm.
They can work with you on certain ways to lower it without affecting your coverage. Esp with this market, you aren't going to find much that is writing and if you have your autos with SF, those will increase if you move home.
