They had this story on News 12 too...
my brother's pastor said something brilliant to them at their wedding...he said that your marriage should come before your kids...since that is the bond that created them...most people end up putting their kids first...and then their spouse second...my brother has 3 kids and a great wife/marriage (10 years now)...so i guess they are doing something right.

We learned that in precana too. i was shocked to hear it actually. they told us to always put each other first even above our kids - and they have six kids! i thought they were crazy when i heard it but it really makes sense. i just dont know anyone who actually follows this LOL
ETA: I take that back. I dont know anyone in my real life that does this but there are a couple of moms that I read about on here that I feel do this.

I agree with this. I also think as women, we also need to put OURSELVES first, too. I know that some may say that is selfish. It's selfish when you ignore the needs of others. But if you take care of your needs SO THAT you can take care of the needs of others, it's not.

They make a good point that it's just so much harder to raise a child these days. Not to mention it's easier said than done putting marriage first before your children. Motherly instinct will always be to protect and nurture your child.

I remember learning that in Precana. This stuck out in my mind b/c it does make sense. Not sure how much it really actually happens though.

Wow!! That is some interesting info. I can see how the kids become number 1 and it could make some cracks in your marriage.
I guess waiting and planning it out is another way of the couple becoming closer.
