What is the best tummy hold-er inner that is not too uncomfortable?
Hi Ladies....I found a gorgeous dress to wear to my upcoming black tie event. I usually go with the theory that it's always noticeable that my tummy is my worst problem area, so I don't wear uncomfortable garments in an attempt to hide it. Also, I am allergic to so many materials and some of those tight garments itch! This dress is so flattering everywhere else but my tummy looks even worse than usual. It is a gorgeous dress and I got such a great deal on it that I may just save it for after my future tummy tuck! The dress hardly even needs alterations and that is rare for me!!! I love the dress enough that I should try to find something to hide the tummy or at least minimize it. The dress has straps with the snaps that will let me hook my bra to it, so maybe I should go for one of those bodysuit shapes. What brands are good? What stores are good? Has anyone tried the Dr. Rey shapewear?
Anyone have this, from Flexsees?

I love spanx! This is what I wear when I need to have a smooth look under a dress - I have worn them right after having a baby and even when thin - they have many different types - you probably want to either get the all the way up stockings or the all the way up undergarment that has the bike short looking things - good luck! They have worked miracles for me

Spanx higher power. They have them in panty hose too.
Now I want to see a pic of this dress!

Thanks everyone. They all sound good. Can you do me a favor and let me know if the one you recommend runs big or small. I think I'd rather err on the side of big, for the comfort factor.

I always get a one piece for events like this because there is less pulling up, down, etc. involved...

I've tried spanx and flexees and love spanx - much more control.

I prefer Spanx. And (TMI alert) one of the best things about them is that there is a hole in the croch so that you don't have to pull them on and off when you go to the bathroom.
It's not an actual hole, but it's a covering that, when you sit down, opens. It's very helpful!

Re: What is the best tummy hold-er inner that is not too uncomfortable?
I actually prefer a waist cincher to the body suits. I recently wore Spanx Higher power with a Flexees waist cincher over it & felt that was the most slimming. Body suits & anything attached to panties pull too much & Spanx alone are too stretchy & don't hold the gut all the way in.

Re: What is the best tummy hold-er inner that is not too uncomfortable?
Well, I am still makiing my way through the options. I still don't know which style I like best but I swear a person can get a back injury trying to get into some of them! There is one waist cincher that I especially like but it has hooks like a bra and those were visible through the dress even if I turned the cincher around. Maybe the dress is just too sheer for someone who has a tummy. I did a little bit more dress shopping. This is still my favorite dress.

Re: What is the best tummy hold-er inner that is not too uncomfortable?
The waist cincher I have has a zipper that just opens part way, and you just pull it on. I looked for it on line but I couldn't find it. Flexees does make a plain pull up one. They do have boning in them though, which is what makes them work better than Spanx, but yeah, they can show under some dresses. You could try pulling Spanx up over the waist cincher to smooth over the hardware.
