OMG... question from someone that didn't expect to be here
AF was due today, but she didn't show, and I'm very regular. So I took a test. One of those POAS kinds where you get a "plus" sign or just the flat line. I got a faint plus sign.
Are false positives possible? What foods/activites should I avoid? Is DH going to freak out if I tell him?!? I'm somewhere between terrified and excited... can someone tell me it'll be ok?
eta: This is obviously a fake name. I can't post under my real name yet...

There really are no false positives, so congrats on the BFP! As for how your DH is going to react, I have no idea since I don't know him, but I do hope that he sees this as a blessing.
Good luck!

false positives are not common, but they do happen. i'd go take a digital test and see what that says.
and all will be fine!!

It'll be okay! Only you know if your DH is going to freak out or not when you tell him. Were you not planning on having children or just not at this time??

I definately agree, false positives are not too common. Take a digital test to confirm Hopefully DH will surprise you & be very happy

If you don't tell DH, he'll probably figure it out eventually
False positives are very rare - try with a digital tomorrow!
Congrats and welcome!

We were absolutely planning on having kids, we just weren't planning to start trying yet...
Do you have to use FMU with the digital tests?

Re: OMG... question from someone that didn't expect to be here
well how long did it take to get a +? The +- tests are notorious for giving evap line positives ( meaning faint positives after about 5 minutes time ..or once the time frame for test expires) ... I have probably taken 10 of those kind of tests and have gotten an evap line + result on every single one of them.
So while its unlikely, I would test with a regular double line test to be 100% sure. If that oen is positive, then CONGRATS!!!!!
I would think your dH would be as excited as you no?

Re: OMG... question from someone that didn't expect to be here
As the mother of a 16 month old who wasnt planned...I just wanted to say, it will be alright. DH and I werent trying, we planned on having kids at some point but not yet and then OMG
DH and I both were in shock denial etc! But DS is the best suprise we were ever given! And God gives you 9 months to prepare so you have plenty of time to adjust to this new news!!!!
Congrats!
I used a CVS digital when AF was 2 days late. I tested after work at like 6pm. I knew a +- test would drive me nuts!
ETA: I was afraid to tell DH...He was mentally less ready for a DC than I was. he wasnt jumping for joy at first (could have been the stomach flu he came down with) and it took longer for him to get it (it wasnt real for him until I started showing) but he was supportive and excited during my pregnancy and is an amazing dad and I know he wouldnt trade DS for anythign!

Re: OMG... question from someone that didn't expect to be here
Took two digital tests last night... both positive. I spoke to DH. We're both still shell-shocked. I know that I'm lucky - some women spend years trying to get pg - but I'm still a little shaky.
OMG we're having a baby...
