I think the time for maternity pants has come..Where should I go?
I had been doing ok for a while but now that I am 13 weeks along with twins I think I need to get some new pants.
Where should I go? What type do you prefer and why?
Thanks

No, I am in Suffolk and the only one that I know of that has maternity is the one in Bay Shore. And they don't have a huge selection. That is why I ordered pretty much all of my clothes online. Old Navy has a great return policy but most of the stuff worked for me.
I believe there is an Old Navy in Nassau that carries maternity (maybe at The Source) but I am not 100% sure.

The Old Navy in Bay Shore on Sunrise has a small maternity section.

Re: I think the time for maternity pants has come..Where should I go?
my favorite work pants are Duo Maternity from JC Penney. these
I have them in black, brown, tan. I love them so much that I just took them to the dry cleaner and spent $7/pair to have them cropped so I can wear them all summer!
They run a little full, so definitely go into the store to try them on. I'm normally a 12 in pants, and I needed a medium in these.
I've found that kind of waist to be the most comfortable at 18/19 wks when I started wearing them, and now at 30.
-----------------------------------------------
Casual Pants: When I'm just lounging at home, I've been living in cotton skirts and gauchos (non-maternity) and leggings (maternity) from Target! I have some Old Navy low rise cargo-like pants that were great for the past 3 months, but now that the belly is bigger, they're starting to get uncomfortable because they sit RIGHT on my bladder.
-------------------------------------------------------
But I really wear skirts and dresses more than anything else! My non-maternity wrap/mock-wrap dresses still fit great.

Re: I think the time for maternity pants has come..Where should I go?
i did well with tops from the gap.
cropped bottoms/bermudas from old navy
and i ordered the only 2 long length pants from motherhood.com and those were good. In thea actual store, destination maternity that carries motherhood...i got some good sales last week on some more dressy cropped pants for work.
I've struck out at Kohls, target. they have very little selection in the stores near me in PA.

I did OK in Kohls and Target. Old Nacy online is a great place to start too. They have sizing charts that are pretty accurate.
Good luck!

Re: I think the time for maternity pants has come..Where should I go?
go to a store like destination maternity on 110 in melville, or in the source mall. they carry 3 lines--motherhood, pea in a pod, etc. so there's something in every price range. pea in a pod is $$$$$. those stores are your best bet because there are so many different types of clothes.
i just went 2 weeks ago and got TONS of summer and work clothes. most things were very reasonable.
i've also had luck at kohls--but it's hit or miss.
i don't like ann taylor loft maternity--it's cut very big--like for 8-9 months pregnant.
i wouldn't order anything online until you know how things will fit you. that was where i went wrong with ATL maternity--if i had tried it on i would have known it didn't fit for that part in my pregnancy.

I did the best at Macy's Walt Whitman mall maternity and then shot over to motherhood across the street. FYI I got most of my pants on sale in macy's when they were full price in motherhood.

Ann Taylor Loft doesn't carry maternity anymore. Just an FYI.

Re: I think the time for maternity pants has come..Where should I go?
at the beginning of my first pregnancy i bought several pairs of pants for work from the gap.
now, 32 weeks into my second pregnancy, those pants are STILL going strong. they wash and dry really well, with no breakdown in the elastic part and little to no fading.
so i HIGHLY recommend gap for staple items because they will definitely last.
for tops, skirts, and dresses, i've had luck with motherhood, mimi maternity, and target. i find old navy's stuff to run REALLY big.

I like JCPenney for maternity clothes. Target is okay (limited selection) and Motherhood has nice things.
I like Motherhood for underwear.

Re: I think the time for maternity pants has come..Where should I go?
I did destination maternity in manhattan. Some of the motherhood pants I bought, I do not like now. They are baggy in the crotch. My favorite were pea in a pod and Mimi. But Mimi is now pea in a pod. I bought the pea in a pod of the less value not the high end. Good luck, it is a little stressful. And I was exhausted after. So rest up. But they are so nice there and offer juice and water while you shop.

I've had luck at Destination Maternity.
Online I've ordered from Kohl's, Target, Old Navy and Gap. You can order online and return to the store if they don't fit right.
