"How Old Are You?!?" a rant
I get some interesting responses when I tell people I'm 28. Half of them are surprised that we "waited so long" to get married and tell me I have to have a baby ASAP if I ever want to get pregnant. The other half ask me why I got married so young.  Anyone else dealing with these kinds of stupid comments?!?

I'm 42 and have been married 7 months (my first marriage) when i was younger people always thought i was MUCh younger than I was and I was always ******.
Somewhere in my late 20's early 30's I realized it was a good thing that people never thought i was my age,
BUT now I get "well you know, you should get started on a baby"
I used to say "nah i'm too old" except I always got "but people have babies into their late 40's now" so now the conversations go more like this:
"Andrea you should have a baby"
Me: Really, why don't you have another one if you'd like one, oh or you could have it for me.
They have definitely stopped asking.

Recently when I have gotten my nails done or checking out at the grocery store...the person sees my ring and goes "oh boy..you are way to young to be married"...I'm like I'm 28 soon to be 29...and they are shocked! Part of me likes that I look young...the other part wonders why people don't mind their own business...what if I was 23??? Mind your business!

I find people voice their opinions based on there experiences. I had some say you shouldn't get married in your twenties it's too young but he wasn't happy. I guess he was in a midlife crisis or something. Maybe you were immature and selfish in your twenties but I feel DH and myself are doing very well thank you.

I get this too. Almost all my co-workers and college friends are single or dating, some just got married, but none with kids.
I have especially been singled out at work. I don't get invited out after work because they know I'm married and need to commute home, and now I'm pregnant so I'm really excluded! I told them, I'm 28 and still know how to have a good time! Geeesshh They think I'm an old married lady now, and most of them are 28-38 and single!

I get A LOT of comments about my age because I look so young. I'm a middle school teacher and I am often mistaken for a student in the halls!  
When it comes to my friends..... it depends on where my friends are in life. I have friends who are engaged or married and we really relate to each other.
I have one friend who is still "playing the field" and she mocks my desire to TTC soon. I actually find it incredibly rude

Oh Kim, NOT 3 and one half years older....gheez, you are old enough to be his mom.
people are stupid and rude and should go by the saying "less is more" and "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything"

There will always be someone with an opinion to share..isn't that why we are all here  28 and they are pushing you to start a famiily..I am 35.5, have been married dince September and we are not even thinking about maybe trying for at least another year - enjoy being married and live your life
