Aching hips and back?!
Any advice mommies to be? By the end of the day, my lower back is killing me and then I toss and turn through the night with pains in my hips (I used those pillows for pregnancy but they're not working!!)

Re: Aching hips and back?!
I am experiencing this too...all I can do is pop tylenol an hour before bed and ice the lower back...I took a few warm baths too to try and help the achiness...
Feel better, I know how much it stinks!!

Re: Aching hips and back?!
Honestly, I work for a chiropractor and that is all that helps me with this. If you can have DH help you stretch at night before bed it really helps. Lay on the floor with knees bent and one leg crossed over the other (with foot on one knee) and have DH gently push back on your legs (so your legs stay bent and basically try to push your knees as close as possible to your chest.) It works the hips, hamstrings, low back and really helps.
Also, when resting, try to put a pillow (any pillow!) under your belly (if on your side) or propped under your low back.
Tylenol, warm baths or showers and massages always help also!!
I suffer big time from this so I know how it feels and it stinks!! FEEL BETTER and HTH!

Re: Aching hips and back?!
OMgosh...thanks girls. Thought my body was falling apart from pregnancy. Glad to know I'm not alone, but wish none of us were suffering from this.
Guess it's not the worst thing!!!

Re: Aching hips and back?!
For a couple days now my left hip has been quite sore as if it's out of socket a little. I've gotten some jolts in my hips it goes away but this time it has been hanging around. And my lower back is starting to chime in too! I know that I just may be over doing sometimes but there is just so much to do and so much sitting around resting I can tolerate without going nuts in these final weeks.
I just told my sister and SIL that I don't want to complain because I'll take a sore hip and tingly arm with baby in my belly over a ripped apart cooch and baby to tend to!!!! I'm not ready yet!!!!

Re: Aching hips and back?!
Yup, everything is stretching....I agree with the others, the thing that helped me last pregnancy was going to the chiropractor. If it gets bad this time, I'll go back.

Re: Aching hips and back?!
I have had this exact pain since about 20 weeks... I am 35 weeks now and unfortunately it doesn't get much better. You'll get through it though!
I found tylenol didn't do anything to help with the pain so I just tried to walk a lot and stretch.

Re: Aching hips and back?!
I find myself stretching each hip in the middle of the night after I flip, just to loosen the tight one up. Some how, I think this tossing and turning is Mother Nature's way of helping us adjust to the lack of sleep we have to look forward to for the next 20 years.....
