Interview/portfolio help!!!!!! ASAP please!!!

As some of you may know, my district is cutting my postion this upcoming year. I absolutely love my job and from the feedback i have received, i do it well. Welllllllllllllll, after putting out well over 100 resumes, i received my first call for an interview today. I didn't know whether to jump up and down or throw up so i did both haha.

Now onto my question...i am interviewing for a probationary position for a secondary special education/English teacher. I am currently an English teacher and i was the English teacher in an inclusive setting last year. Please help with any interview questions you may think they will ask and also ideas for my portfolio please!!! I feel like my portfolio is a bit on the weak side and i could sure use your help!! I'm so nervous. The only thing that im stoked about is that it is not a panel interview. Thanks so much for your help!!

first of all, good luck. as far as the portfolio goes...i'm not sure - i brought my updated portfolio to my interviews (pre-screening, panel & supt.) and not one person wanted to look at it. i was bummed b/c i thought it was pretty good, but obviously they knew what they were looking for & didn't need to be shown anything extra. i think it also depends on how many people they're interviewing. when i had my interviews there were at least 10 women waiting in the office & this was during school hours good luck...be yourself, i'm sure you'll shine away!

oops, forgot interview questions..
they asked about past practices, how i run my class, what they would see if they walked by, how i would handle a particular behavior issue, where i see kids by the end of the year, etc...

ITA that unless you are, they most likely won't look at your portfolio, unless you point out things in it.

I did that with my current superintendent. A topic came up and I was able to show her the example. She actually took it to put in my file.

I would leave my portfolio in a bound book (from staples/kinkos, etc) AND electronically (in html format, so they could browse it like a webpage)
