help me find a lactaction consultant pls (suffolk)

i feel like i need one....dd is very slow at eating and well, theres a lot going on right now with her, (pray its nothing!!!) so any help would be great...do you know if my insurance would cover it? should I call my ob for a rec or talk to the ped office??

Call the pediatrician for a referral. The insurance may cover it if there is a medical reason for the baby. My insurance covered it for me because the baby was jaundiced and had lost weight. I don't live in Suffolk, so my LC wouldn't work out for you.

I worked with Lucia in Suffolk. She was awesome! She came to the house, & was reasonable. I thought I'd feel very strange with someone I didn't know coaching me with bfing, but she made me feel at ease. (Her fee included a follow-up visit, and she was available by phone, too.)

Where are you located? I went to see Grace Harold in Smithtown, I have her number if you are close, you can FM me. Or Jennifer Giordano with St. Catherine's, though I am not sure if she does in home visits, she does run an amazing Breast Feeding group. FM me if you want their info.
