Re: septate uterus
From what I have seen, you do need surgery to correct that. And, hate to say it, but probably the reason for your past m/c. So, sorry to hear about all this. There is a thread on FertilityFriend for women with this issue. I may still have the link but you might want to check it out. But, of course you have to pay for FF to use their message board. I have a t-shaped uterus and surgery can't correct my issue. If you decide to go there I will try to find it for you.
For sure you can take progesterone after finding out you are pg, if your p4 is low. My friend did that and was fine taking suppositories after finding out from her RE that she got pg naturally on her off cycle.
Of course if you are doing ART they test your P4 a week after an IUI or IVF ER. Usually give you the supplement automatically with IVF but IUI varies with your RE and your previous b/w results.

Re: septate uterus
The good news is that you can get pregnant and you now know why you keep miscarrying! That is a much better place to be in!
From what I have read, the surgery is not that intrusive and it has a great sucess rate! You can always get a 2nd opinion!
Good Luck!!!!!

Re: septate uterus
I had written a long response and was locked out! So, I'll try again....
For starters- I have a septate uterus.
I have a 2 year old who we conceived naturally. It was discovered during this pregnancy that I have a septated uterus, but they didn't know to what extent and couldn't test due to me being pregnant. My DD stoped growing at the end of my pregnancy and we had to induce labor. This had NOTHING to do with the septate.
I'm now having secondary infertility issues and the Dr. thought this might be a cause, as I've had 3 miscarriages.
I've actually had 2 tests done as I switched RE's. The first test, HGC was done in the hospital and the Dr. said it was minor and should've prevent me from getting pg, or carrying a pregnancy full term. My new Dr. also just did a water uterus exam and saw the septate. He showed it to me and explained this...
It was less than 30% of a septate and therefore, no surgery would be necessary. It would not inhibit me from getting pg or carrying a baby full term. IF it were greater than 30%, he would simply go in and shave off the part, "it would fall off like cotton" and eventually fall out. It would've been done in his office, and it sounded like a very minor "surgery".
SO- at least you know you have this and can have some tests done. See how long it is and if it's necessary.
Just fyi- my reasons for 1. my DD stoping to grow at the end of my pregnancy and 2. my 3 miscarriages and 3 me NOT getting pg had NOTHING to do with this. This was all about my auto immune natural killer cells & white blood cell count that was causing blood clots; therefore, not allowing the placenta to perform- resulting in my miscarriages.
I'm only sharing so you don't think all hope is gone and "surgery" is a must. Feel free to FM me with any questions. Best of luck!!!!
