Need Honest Opinions Please...
Hi,
My DS's birthday is November 3rd. He will be 1 (already). :(. I wanted to plan his first birthday but we really can't afford to have it at a hall or restaurant. We were going to do what we did for Ava, in the backyard with a character for the kids. However, Ava's birthday was July, LOL.
What I am thinking of doing is having his first birthday the end of September, beginning of October. I figured i would do a 4 hour party with a time limit (the warmest part of the day, maybe 12-4)? He will be 11 months old, so it is close, I feel bad not having it when he is a year, but I have heard people have done this. My big concern, is do you think it is warm enough at that time of the year for a backyard party? I have to start planning it soon, if I am going to do that. Can anyoen give me any advice, ideas or suggestions?/ Thank you so much,

personally, I think it can go either way that time of year,. youd definately be taking a gamble.

Personally, I think the end of Sept would be fine weather wise. The middle of the day is better than the night.

I got married in mid October almost 3 years ago and the weekend before was gorgeous and in the 70's. Our weekend was windy and in the 50's. I'd go with September.

Honestly, I think even if you pushed it to mid-October you'd still be okay. It's usually still nice during the day that time of year.

I'd say you'd be okay at the middle of October. Even if people had to wear a jacket, it wouldn't be a big deal. Think of Halloween - even then it's still nice during the day. It could rain, so it would be good to have a rain date for the next weekend maybe.

I'd say as long as you have a backup plan for rain, you're ok. Whether can be iffy but last year Joseph's birthday party was the 1st weekend in October & it was pretty warm out.

Indoors. It was at the Ice Cream Shoppe. It was a Halloween Costume party (his idea).

We are just having it inside for Alexa because she was born in Feb and inviting less people. If we hit the lotto by then, then we will have it someone but I doubt it
Can you just invite less people and have it inside?

i agree with the above - HOWEVER, you can always rent 'heaters' for the outdoors if it's too cold!!

What a cute idea, Barbara.I am sure i wll be doiing those parties once he gets older. When is his actual bday?
I can invite less and have it inside, I guess I will have to make a list and see. Thanks for all the advice.! :)
