Do I need a travel system or just a regular car seat & snap & go?
Im going to register today and Im not sure what to get. Ive read reviews on travel systems that the stroller part is heavy and bulky and once the baby outgrows the infant seat they just get a lightweight stroller.
Registering seems so overwhelming. There is so much to get and so many reviews to go through. TIA.

I had both... The snap and go was easiest for quick trips and I would not give it p for anything. But when I went on walks, I loved the smooth ride of my carriage.

I did not get a travel system bc I knew for us it would be a waste. We got the Graco SnugRider & then got an All Terrain stroller by Kolocraft to use when we do our walks & travels (we tend to visit places where we need all terrain).

I'm getting a snap and go and then a light weight. The systems are just too heavy for me.

Re: Do I need a travel system or just a regular car seat & snap & go?
i would try them out.
my best friend just had a baby and she got the chicco cortina travel system.
before we registered, i went to her house and got to try it out (folding/unfolding the stroller... putting seat into stroller.... putting seat into car) and i was really happy with it.
when DH and i went to BRU to register, i had him try it also and he loved it - so we ended up going with that. my friend also has the snap n'go and said she never uses it because it's just as easy to use the stroller from the travel system.

I agree with hayley, definitely go try them out in the store. We went back several times to make sure of what we wanted.
I knew I wanted the Chicco Keyfit30 infant seat, but not the whole travel system. We ended up LOVING the Baby Jogger City Mini so we got that as our main stroller and also got the baby trend Snap 'N Go. At first I didn't want a snap 'n go with the chicco car seat b/c it doesn't snap in, but we tried it out again last week and it fits really snug and there is a strap to keep it secure also.

Re: Do I need a travel system or just a regular car seat & snap & go?
I liked the idea of the travel system, but when we tried them out at the store, putting it in our trunk it was VERY tight. And it felt a little heavy for taking in and out a lot. The snap-and-go just seemed a lot easier and fit a lot better. Then we just registered for a lightweight stroller for when the baby grows out of the car seat.

I'm not getting a travel system.
We're getting the snap n go and an all terrain stroller. The sidewalks by me are terrible. Every time I go for a walk with my best friend and her baby, she has such a hard time with her stroller on my sidewalks.

I got the Graco metrolite travelsystem and a snap and go. The travel system is very lightweight- we tried it out in the store when we registered.

I love my Graco SnugRide car seat and the snap n go. That is all we use for now and DS is 9 weeks old. I got the CHicco Cortina stroller for later on but for now the snap n go is great!

Re: Do I need a travel system or just a regular car seat & snap & go?
Definitely try a bunch of strollers out in the store. I didn't like the travel system at all. I adore the snap n go. I was sad to give it up. I recently started using my next stroller, the Peg Perego Pliko P3 and I adore it. It's pretty lightweight, folds up easily and is very easy to handle.
Registering can be very overwhelming. You could always get the snap n go and wait until DC is here before deciding on another stroller. That way, you'll have more of an idea of what your needs are and what features you want in a stroller.

I have the Chicco cortina travel system and its not that heavy. I love it used it for my first dd and will be using for dd#2. But as the other posters stated try it in the store. I initially liked the Chicco b/c my SIL had it before me and I was able to try it out.

I just came back from registering. We loved the Chicco Keyfit 30 infant seat and stroller. It was easy for us to maneuver and we liked the features. But we also loved the Baby jogger city mini so we registered for both. I also added the baby trend snap & go base don the salesperson's advice at BBB.

This is exactly what we did too.

Re: Do I need a travel system or just a regular car seat & snap & go?
I had both, but for the first 3 months I used the snap and go all the time. Once I began taking my DS out of the infant carrier (because it became to heavy), I used the stroller from the travel system.
