Has anyone made a cookbook?

I would like to create a cookbook of my family recipes and have copies printed. Has anyone tried this... if so, PLEASE HELP! HOW do I start?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated Chat Icon

TIA

Re: Has anyone made a cookbook?

my mom has a cookbook that she handwrote her recipes in.

maybe you could find a nice book and do the same...write them up in the order you like...etc. and then have copies made.

I like the idea of a handwritten family cookbook rather than a typed one...it just screams home and family to me...

I did the same thing. I bought a great journal type book in B&N and every so often I will jot down recipes that I love and use often, and others that I find that blow my mind.

maybe my kiddo will want it one day. I think it's cool to have it in the "hand" of the hand that fed them.

you could even scan the handwritten pages and have them stored on the computer for easy access and printing...kinda merging the old world with the new.

anyway, that's my overly wordy idea Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Has anyone made a cookbook?

Ive done this , When my Grandma past away , she had all her recipes written down in Italian on post its, on paper towels , u name i t, LOL I had them translated to english . What I did was type it out in english & then on the other side of the page I incirporated her exact version of the recipes. I mde tabs for cookies, pastas's meats etc... I put a picture of her & my grandfather on their wedding day on the front cover & then I had them binded. I gave them out as xmas gifts one year .. Its such a great idea & nice keepsake.
